Sci-Fi Crossover Fanfiction: Guardians of Humanity - Pilot

Explosions rang out as missiles flew overhead. Zachary heard the sounds of screams behind him, cut off by
the crack of explosions as innocents were cut down in the streets. His armor protected him from most of
the chaos going on as he turned to face the threat ahead; three decepticon warriors rampaging through the
streets of the city. As the soldiers behind him swung wide through the streets as a distraction, Zachary
lifted his exotically shaped energy rifle and charged closer. As one decepticon looked away from him and
fired at the soldiers across the street, Zachary released several bolts of bright blue plasma into the
transformer's neck, taking its head off. As the alien machine collapsed into a whiring pile of scrap, a
missile impacted near Zachary and sent him flying. The young warrior's nerves ached from the impact as he
landed, his sensors going static for a minute. One of the other decepticons was running full speed at him,
holding a sword as horrifying in appearance as its wielder.

"Kelsy, where are you?!" Zachary yelled into his comm as he struggled to get up. His right leg felt like
it was on fire and there was a sensation of warm liquid on his shin.

"Right here, babe," said a young female voice in Zachary's ear as another suit of dark grey armor lept
from the top of a building and landed on the decepticon's head. The metal monster growled at her and
tried to knock her off, but she drew a pair of shining blades and sliced into its body. As Kelsy dug her
way inside the transformer's form, it writhed as if in pain, clawing at its chest. Kelsy emerged several
seconds later and jumped from the decepticon's shoulder as its entire form exploded from the bomb she had
planted inside it.

"Nice one," Zachary said over the comm as he leaned up against an overturned car. There was a piece of
shrapnel stuck between the plates of his leg armor, accounting for the loss of control. He prayed the
shard of metal hadn't sliced his nerves, as it would be incredibly expensive to try and get them healed.

"Two down, one..." Kelsy said, her words being cut off by the sound of a blaring alarm.

"Alert, Kaiju inbound, Category III, all civilians to shelters!" The alarm sounded. The sound of hover
engines could be heard in the distance as a KDF aerial battleship approached the coastline. The sound of
the massive warship coming overhead distracted the soldiers and the last remaining decepticon for a
moment.

"Now!" Zachary yelled as he reached for his gun, only to find it missing from his grasp. He felt his
blood run cold as the decepticon turned and looked at him propped up against a wrecked car with an injured
leg and no weapon. The metallic beast growled and started walking toward him, extending several shining
tentacles from its back. "Kelsy..." Zachary said into the comm in a desperate tone.

"Coming through!" Kelsy yelled as she ran toward the decepticon from behind, brandishing Zachary's plasma
rifle as well as her own. A quick repulsor burst and she landed on top of the decepticon, firing both
weapons several times into the back of its neck. The metal monster collapsed into a smoldering wreck
below her as she went to help Zachary. "You want to watch the kaiju battle?" She asked.

"No, we need to get back to headquarters... it's too dangerous anyway, you should know that," Zachary
said. The pain from his leg was getting to him. "Call in a transport, we need to get out of here," He
ordered. One of the soldiers nearby pressed a button on his helmet and called for a SHIELD transport,
which arrived promptly with a medical team.

As they took off, Zachary looked out the window toward the bay. A massive beast was attempting to make its
way ashore, a beast with the head of a shark and the body of a large, muscular frog. In its way were two
aerial battleships of the Kaiju Defense Force, utilizing a mix of technologies from around the globe to
stay the beast's advance. Plasma artillery was being fired, poking holes in the kaiju's skin and serving
to make the battleships seem a more attractive target than the city ahead.

The transport didn't stay long but Zachary knew the city was in good hands. Hunting kaiju was what the
KDF did, and they did it exceptionally well. His thoughts turned back to his own plight as the medics
finally removed the metal shard from his leg. It was transformium, a shard from the casing of the
decepticon missile that gave him the injury in the first place. As his armor was removed and carefully set
aside, Kelsy was sitting next to him, holding his hand. Her golden blond hair was always a beautiful
sight that Zachary loved getting lost in, and her presence helped ease his pain as they flew back to
headquarters to debrief and get him proper medical attention.
